Return on investment (ROI)

Return on investment means benefits you receive in returns relative to the amount of money invested.

The main advantage of automated testing is to save time, cost, and efforts. ROI is used to measure how much you are benefitted while using automated testing.

If you are using automated testing for automating your testing activities then it should back you to reduce cost, execution time, and efforts in long run. It is not a good approach to continue with automated testing which does not help you in any way.
